Yes. SolveWise is COPPA-compliant and built with children’s privacy as a core requirement:
- No personally identifiable information about your child is included in AI requests — only the problem text
- Student accounts require parental creation — children cannot sign themselves up
- We never sell data or show ads
- All data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- Each account can only access its own data — no cross-account visibility

For student profiles, SolveWise collects only:
- First name
- Grade level
- Username and hashed password
- Learning activity: problems attempted, hints used, quiz scores, mastery scores, and session timestamps
Can my child create their own account?

No. Only parents or legal guardians aged 18+ can create SolveWise accounts. Student profiles are created and managed exclusively by the parent account holder. Children log in with a username and password set by their parent, not with an email address.This is a deliberate COPPA compliance requirement, not a limitation.

Never. SolveWise does not show advertising of any kind to students or parents. The service is funded entirely by subscription fees.

No. SolveWise does not sell personal information to anyone, for any purpose. We use third-party services only to operate the platform (payment processing, hosting, error monitoring) and share only the minimum data required for each service to function.
Who can see my child's data?

You (the parent account holder) can see your child’s learning activity through the parent dashboard. SolveWise staff have restricted, monitored administrative access for troubleshooting purposes. No other parties can access your child’s data. Child learning data is never made publicly visible.

You can permanently delete a student profile and all associated data directly from the parent dashboard. Go to the student’s profile and select Delete Student. This permanently removes all homework history, quiz results, and mastery data and cannot be undone.You can also email support@solvewise.org to request full data deletion. All requests are processed within 30 days.

If you cancel your subscription, account data is retained for 12 months so you can reactivate without losing your child’s progress. After 12 months with no active subscription, all data is permanently deleted. Accounts inactive for 18 months with no subscription are automatically purged.

SolveWise is COPPA-compliant and designed for home use by parents. If your school is interested in using SolveWise, contact support@solvewise.org to discuss options. Currently the platform is designed for individual family subscriptions, not institutional licenses.
