What practice mode is
Practice mode is separate from homework tutoring. Instead of uploading real homework, practice mode generates problems in a specific topic or at a specific difficulty level — either assigned by you or chosen by your child. There are two types of practice:- Parent-assigned practice — you pick the topic and number of problems; your child sees the assignment waiting in their dashboard
- Self-directed practice — your child chooses their own topic and difficulty from within their student view
Creating a practice assignment
From the parent dashboard, select a student, then click Assign Practice. Configure the assignment:| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Topic | Choose from the topic list (e.g., fractions, linear equations, geometry) |
| Difficulty | At grade level, one level below, or one level above |
| Number of problems | 3, 5, or 10 problems |
| Due date (optional) | Set a target completion date — this is a reminder, not enforced |
What students see
When your child logs in, assigned practice appears at the top of their screen with a label indicating it came from you. They work through each problem the same way as regular homework — with the option to get a hint, request a walkthrough, or try on their own. A mastery quiz follows the practice set, just like a regular tutoring session.Tracking completion
Completed practice assignments appear in your parent dashboard under the student’s activity history. You can see:- Whether the assignment was completed
- Quiz score after the practice set
- Which problems the student needed walkthroughs for vs. solved independently
